The Great Rut!

So it’s been awhile since Iv’e posted anything. I’ve just spent the last 3 months dragging my lazy ass through my final exams and am only just getting back to reality. I’ve been struggling for so long, trying to find a career that I am happy with. It’s driving me to the point of despair. I’ve been speaking to so many people at work. All of whom have been there for years and years and they all keep telling me that “oh you’ll figure it out eventually. you don’t wanna be stuck here all your life”. That’s kind of them to say but not everyone gets to have the perfect job. Most have to settle with what they can get.

I’m really worried that in this year that I’m taking to try and figure this out that at the end of it, I’ll have nothing to show. I’ve had 21 years to think about it already. What makes this year any different? I seriously don’t know what to do. I see all these people around me who have a career goal that there striving towards, and then there’s me just standing there, not progressing in life because I’m far to indecisive and worried about making the wrong choice. I have a record of completing to a career idea and going for it, only to realise that 2 weeks later that this is not the career for me. Kind like how to find a long you love so you play it over and over again until you can’t stand it any more. That’s pretty much what I’m like.

The only thing I know for sure is that I wanna help people. I want a home that makes a difference. But I want a career path that could lead me to make great change. But I’m kind of stubborn. I not gonna be satisfied with helping just people in my community. I wanna be apart of something being. I wanna help people in third world countries, I wanna help protect peoples human rights but I don’t know enough about it.

By writing this out, it helps me to clear my head of all these emotions I have swirling inside. I need to speak to someone. Someone who has to resources to help me make this decision.

British Essential: CoatsΒ

On occasion the sky will brighten up in Britain but most of the time I don’t bother looking at the sky, I just assume it’s constantly cold and grey. I’ve learned to love it and imbrace layering with the most important layer being the coat.

These three coats really interest me. The red one feels very innocent and fun. The bold colour would be a nice pace from all the grey I wear! The second has a lot going on, which is great from those days you can’t be bothered making an effort. The last one has got to be my favourite. It’s practical and I love the earthy colours!

Thanks again from listening

Get In My Wardrobe!! #1

Hey everyone so this post I wanted to keep it simple and easy. So these are three outfits I need in my wardrobe.

image

Okay so the first outfit is some what alternative. Its not something I’ve worn before but there’s something about the silhouette it makes that really draws me to it. It has this art Deco vibe to it and I think its important to experiment once in a while.
So the next outfit is right up my street. Its an easy outfit but the flare comes from the shirt. The pattern reminds me of odd curtains πŸ˜›
Finally the last outfit gives of this Persian cheek feeling. Its light and effortless but looks put together with a hint of minimalism.

Also I’d just like a say sorry for not posting for a while. Personal issue but everything’s good now πŸ™‚

Thanks again

Designer: Alexander Wang

So with this week being the week I attempt to go back to the gym I thought to myself, oh sugar what am I gonna wear. Even when working out I wanna atleast look some what presentable. I said this to myself when on the sofa in sweatpants and a sweatshirt and thought to myself, I could go like this but how would I make sweats look good. I googled sportswears and  eventually found Alexander Wang who I’d heard of before but didn’t really know a lot about. He’s a designer based in New York who attempts to create comfortable fashionable prices based around sportswear.

I don’t know why but I’ve never really thought of sportswear as fashion, more utility then anything. I think its a great idea to blur the lines between fashion and utility. May start wearing sweats more often.

My Go To: Grey Jumper

There are many days where I just feel like not making an effort. I don’t wanna experiment or stand out. I just wanna look put together and some what stylist. It’s why one of my go to is a grey jumper.

image

Or a variation of it. It looks clean and simple. Wear it over a shirt and you look a tad formal while still keeping that chilled vibe. I love ones with a bold graphic on the front. Its a great way to show personality. I often wear them with black skinny and a white polo.

Thanks for reading πŸ™‚

Home Decor: Marble

I can only say good things about marble. Put marble on anything and I’ll buy it! There’s something so simple yet varied. No two marble pieces look alike. They’re unique and beautiful.

image

As I live in a small apartment. I need detail that doesn’t take up space. I need minimalism and that’s just what marble does. I’m currently on the look out for a marble coffee table. It’ll look amazing on my black and white rug. It also goes really well with black and slate. Oh I need one!!

Wardrobe Essentials: Black Skinny Jeans

So next in my essentials is a pair of black skinny jeans. They are incredible versatile and inexpensive. I’ve started to wear them more than raw blue denim.

image

They bring a sleek, stylist look to the wearer and can be worn casually or formally. They’re also a great base item if you want another piece of clothing to pop. I can’t actually think of anything they don’t go with. Allows skinny and never straight fit.

Thanks for reading πŸ™‚

Colour Scout: Grey

For me there’s no colour I love more to wear than grey. I thinks its because I live in England where we often have grey skies rather than blue. There’s something so clean and minimal about it.

image

It looks stylist but effortless. I love wearing grey chinos with a crisp white shirt or a thick cotton grey jumper with some black skinny jeans. Grey seems to go with everything and is a colour I’m gonna be wearing all through out spring.

I hope you liked me thoughts on grey πŸ™‚

Finding what to do in life. Stress level 1000!!

So these last few days have been very very dull. For the longest time I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with my life and recently its been taking over. I can’t seem to get any uni work done because it’s not what I want to do anymore but I can’t follow another career path just yet until I finish uni.

image

Its a very annoying circle with each loop I get more and more bored. The other issue is I can’t seem to figure out what to do as a career. I know science, love fashion, and have a desire to help people. I can’t seem to figure out what to follow. My heart, head or gut.
